HLA LEADERSHIP

Dear Houston Lawyers Association,

I am deeply honored and humbled to serve as your President for this bar year. As I write this, I’m filled with gratitude for the trust you have placed in me and excitement for the journey ahead. As we continue to celebrate 70 years of excellence, we must reflect on how far we have come together: we now boast a membership of over 500 lawyers, law students, and allies who share our commitment to service and excellence!

In the spirit of togetherness, I encourage you to get involved and take on the calling to mentor, advocate, join a committee, and lead as we venture into this new bar year. Guided by the theme this year of— “Lifting as We Climb: The Duty of the Black Lawyer” — I encourage you to reflect on the mission of the Houston Lawyers Association and our calling as advocates for our community and the rule of law. As we continue to climb to greater heights, we must also ensure that we each lift others along the journey to fulfill the vision of our founders.

Whether you’re an attorney or just beginning your legal journey, your voice matters in HLA, and we want to lift you as we continue to climb. I encourage you to reach out to me directly with your ideas, concerns, or simply to connect. We are stronger when we support one another. I am excited to work alongside each of you this year, especially our incoming Board filled with brilliant leaders amongst our profession. We are preparing a year filled with the excellence that you have come to expect and I look forward to seeing you join us on our journey!
